Cali's First Trip to the Beach

During our Christmas festivities, Mom, DJ, and I took Cali to the beach. We thought she was going to play with her ball for about 1/2 a second, and then chase some birds, investigate the water, run after people on bikes, or dig in the sand. Well, she proved to be a TRUE retriever and didn't even notice there was water, sand, birds, or bikes. She was all about the ball... especially since we got a special long distance ball thrower (it even picks up the slobbery, sandy ball for us so we don't have to touch it). Here are a few highlights... enjoy!

Going down the steps into the world of water.

She was kinda fast, so it was difficult to get her in all the shots. Also, don't let this picture fool you. Yes, she is looking towards the water. No, she is NOT looking at the water. She is looking at the ball. (We even through the ball into the water and she DIDN'T notice it was wet.)

Some nice lady on her bike asked if we would like her to take our picture together. Notice Cali has NOT taken her eye off the ball. ("Thanks again, Nice Lady on the Bike.... I know I thought you just wanted to steal our camera, and I'm sorry.")

Yes, of course she is looking at the ball. But notice how cute her nose looks covered in sand!!
