Your Baby Can Read
Has anyone heard of this program or used it??? I have heard some good and some bad and I was wondering if you'd share your input...

I actually also heard of that recently, and as convincing and great as the infomercial looks, after researching it a bit and seeing what people had to say about it, I came to the conclusion that it is pretty much a scam. It takes hours of time every day, you have to put your baby in front of a video on TV (that apparently many kids get bored with and won't watch after about 2 minutes) several times a day which is not good at such a young age, and I think you can get better results on your own by reading with your child a lot without spending that much money. Google "Your baby can read, scam," and you will get all sorts of complaints on websites like this one http://www.infomercialscams.com/scams/your_baby_can_read_complaints
i saw the informercial, it looks pretty sweet. But nothing you cant do yourself with out a TV involved. Point to your foot, and hold a flash card that says foot...not to difficult
I can't help but comment. Little ones grow up SO fast on their own, but in our society, we try to make super babies/kids as well. Parents begin schooling, sports, and lessons earlier now than ever. Not only do we push our kids, we judge others who are "behind". The result seems to be a ton of disfunction of young people/adults in a fast paced society. The most crucial developement period for kids are from ages two to five anyway. SO, all that to say is: No, my baby can't read. =)
I've got it, the infomercial pulled me in... we'll talk. Levi likes it, Mason gets bored. So I think it may be better for the younger audience, and those learning a second language... :)
my sister used it and it worked. i just bought for all my boys. its not about sitting your child infront of the tv and saying see ya'. its about sitting there WITH them and doing the same thing WITH them. i am teacher and sometimes teaching your own child is harder than teaching others along with sometimes listening to your own parents advise is harder than listening to your friends advise. keep that in mind...think about you most likely spend hundred of dollars a year on stupid toys and dont think twice about it. then why are you stressing so much on this - buy it, if you dont like it you get your $ back! did you get your money back last time you bought you child a toy already taken out of the box and broken within 10mins????
one last thing, while agree with kelli problem, schools do not...kids are required to read in kindergarten, level 4 mind you. so if you dont want to hold your child back, then my suggestion would get on board with the school system b/c otherwise, who gets left behind - the child. trust me i was amazed when my little started this year. i thought i was doing great b/c he was able to do all the requirements to get into kindergarten (i mean above meeting the age requirement) and sat in on curriculum night. lord, i was surprised and scared for him. not like what it use to be but regardless i have to get onboard, cant change school requirements.
and kelli, mine cant read either so please dont take my comment as anymore than i hear ya but hate if i dont get on board, he will fail. sad but true....so with that said, why not try this program when i know first hand from sister who got my nephew to read by 3. again, in kindergarten you still got a write and count but that one of the three i can do just a little bit more on my part.
